Thanks & Giving. Let's do our fair share of both and transform the canvas of our life!
We all love a good Hallmark movie during the holidays, but the truth is, our life is not a Hallmark movie. For some, holidays can be anything but festive and cozy—even triggering feelings of sadness, loss and anxiety. Most people can relate to having these feelings at some point or another. When you feel those waves trying to come upon you, you can apply this vital key to combatting the triggers—GRATITUDE. Did you know that gratitude has been scientifically proven to significantly impact an individual's emotional, mental, and even physical state and gratitude compounds. It expands and changes the entire canvas of your life! But you have to be diligent and do your part of thanking, giving, and keeping that "gratitude attitude" strong!
Find The Good
If there is anything good and worth giving thanks for, think about these things.
Gratitude turns what we have into enough. It is not about our circumstance being "perfect", but it's about our attitude, regardless of any circumstance. Here are four simple tools to help develop an attitude of gratitude and to see your life transformed by its power:
1 - Prayer & Thanksgiving. Give the first fruits of your day in prayer to The Lord. Thank Him for His divine protection, wisdom, and guidance. Pray for Him to help you be a blessing to those you encounter and even to place you in the path of those who need encouraged and uplifted.
2 - Journal. Keep a simple notebook to reflect and record all the things you are thankful for each day. When it comes to practicing gratitude, consistency is key.
3 - Say it. Say thank you to those you are thankful for. Write thank you cards. Pay someone a compliment. Step outside your comfort zone to encourage those around you and watch the gratitude multiply!
4 - Take the time to slow down and enjoy the moment you are in right now. Be where you're at when you're there. Don't get the cart before the horse, so to speak. Enjoy each day and don't live your life fixated on the past or the future. It's great to prepare for the future, but make sure to enjoy the PRESENT, as it's a gift.
Cheers to a heart of gratitude that thinks on what is good, lovely, noble, pure, and of a good report!
Stay in the loop, friend.
